Swing Trades

US-listed large caps trading a long way below their 52-week high, where revenue is still growing year on year and the business is generating cash. Two setups sit side by side here: names still below their long-term trend, and names that have already turned back above their short-term average. Each card says which it is. Screened automatically against a fixed rule set and refreshed on a schedule.

Setup types

Both appear on this page. Neither is better than the other, and the label describes where a price currently sits rather than what will happen next.

What every figure on a card means

Setup

Off 52W high
How far below its highest price of the past year the stock is trading.
vs 200-day
Where the price sits against its average over the last 200 trading days, the usual reference for a long-term trend.
Above 52W low
How far the price has recovered from its lowest point of the past year.
Revenue growth
Latest reported quarterly revenue against the same quarter a year earlier.
P/S per pt growth
Price-to-sales divided by that growth rate. It compares companies growing at different speeds, and unlike PEG it still works for a company that is not yet profitable.
Last reported
Days since the most recent earnings report. Blank when the next date is already scheduled.
New
The stock first appeared on this list within the last day.

Price and momentum

1W, 2W, 4W, 52W
Price change over roughly the last one, two and four weeks, and over the past year.
Target
The mean price target published by the analysts covering the stock, with the gap to the current price. Shown only when the two are on a comparable scale.
30 day price line
Daily closing prices for the last 30 days. A dashed line means no daily history was available and the shape is reconstructed from the changes above.

Positioning

Short interest
Shares sold short as a percentage of the freely tradable shares. Higher means more of the market is positioned against the stock.
Insider flow
Value of shares bought and sold by company insiders over the last six months.
Rating
The consensus recommendation reported by the analysts covering the stock.

Valuation

P/E
Share price divided by earnings per share over the last twelve months.
P/B
Share price against the book value of the company's assets.
FCF yield
Free cash flow as a percentage of market value.
PEG
P/E adjusted for the expected rate of earnings growth.
D/E
Total debt against shareholder equity.
The bars
Where a figure sits among the other stocks currently on this page. They are relative to the rows on screen, not to any fixed target, so they shift as the list changes.

A blank figure means the data was not reported, which is different from a value of zero.

Informational only. Figures are screened from public market data and are not a recommendation to buy or sell. A large fall from a 52-week high can reflect a lasting change in a company's prospects as easily as a temporary one.
