Large-cap index constituents that earn a strong return on the capital they employ,
turn reported profit into cash and carry manageable debt, while trading on modest
multiples. Drawn from five indices across the US, UK, Germany and Japan, screened
automatically against a fixed rule set and refreshed on a schedule.
Trend labels
-
Trend turned
The price is back above both its 50-day and 200-day averages.
The fall has stopped.
-
Awaiting turn
The business figures match, but the price has not yet climbed
back above both averages.
Both appear on this page. Neither is better than the other, and the label
describes where a price currently sits rather than what will happen next.
What every figure on a card means
Business
- Rank
- How closely a stock matches this screen, 1 being the closest.
It describes the match, not a forecast.
- Return on capital
- Operating profit measured against the capital the business
employs to make it.
- Cash conversion
- Free cash flow measured against reported profit. It shows
how much of the stated profit arrives as cash.
- Free cash flow margin
- Free cash flow as a share of revenue.
- Interest cover
- Operating profit measured against the interest bill.
"No interest expense" means the reported interest expense is zero.
- Net debt / EBITDA
- Borrowings less cash, measured against annual earnings before
interest, tax and depreciation. A negative figure means the
company holds more cash than debt.
- Revenue and earnings growth p.a.
- The average yearly change over the reported years shown
beneath the panel.
Valuation
- RSI
- A momentum index between 0 and 100, comparing the size
of recent rises against recent falls over the last 14
trading days.
- Bars beside the ratios
- Where a figure sits among the other stocks listed on
this page. RSI has no bar: it is not a valuation
measure.
Momentum
- 1w, 2w and 4w
- The price change over the last 5, 10 and 20 trading
days. Counting trading days rather than calendar days
keeps the windows comparable across the four countries
on this page.
- 52w
- The change over the last year.
